We still need pull-ups for overnights. My son pees in his bed overnight no matter what and it doesn’t even phase him. However, we do put his underwear on first and then a pull-up over it so he can still feel his accident. Every child is different.

@mamagarcia, It’s definitely a good idea! We haven’t tried it though because he’s in a full size bed and moves around like crazy in his sleep lol.

@aengs2, in that case it might not be worth it to replace the mattress 😂 ive heard boys are slower at potty training, but im having my third girl so i might never know for sure haha.

@mamagarcia, Exactly! I too have heard that girls potty train faster and I really believe it. My mom friends with little girls have had an easy time potty training while my mom friends with little boys have had a really tough time. It’s so weird!

We never invested in pull-ups. We went from diapers to training underwear. I would just suggest staying consistent, cut out any and all fluids 2 hours before bedtime, we had a potty chart for my daughter and if she succeeded in filling the chart with stickers she won a reward which was a bag full of dollar store toys.

I work at a daycare and have a fully potty trained 2 year old and i did the same ^

For every child I’ve potty trained I’ve found it’s been best to just go straight to underwear and i set a timer for every 15 minutes and to the bathroom they went lol with my son he didn’t care about the difference between pull-ups and diapers because he still associated them as being okay to pee in

@mrenee0217, good luck momma!! Don’t get discouraged , it’s easy to feel defeated sometimes when they have accidents but just remember it’ll be worth it !!

i skipped pull-ups. my potty training method was to just quit diapers cold turkey, throw some panties on my girls and take them to the potty every 20-30 minutes. if they didn’t go potty, id tell them good job for trying. if they did go potty, id make a huge deal about it and praise them. if they had an accident, id say that’s okay, next time let’s try to make it to the potty and i had them help me clean up any messes. it took a couple days of this, but they were potty trained completely within a week. they didn’t like peeing/pooping in their panties because there’s nothing to take the moisture away, so they were more inclined to want to use the potty instead. i never did a rewards system, mostly because i just forgot lmao, but m&m’s and fruit snacks can make good rewards for when they make it to the potty.

^^ this method isn’t for everyone, but it worked for my girls as they’re both potty trained.

@mamagarcia, That sounds much easier and I’m a stay at home mom so hopefully we can get this done within atleast the next 2 months!!
