We can’t even afford to buy my baby his formula right now 😭😭 thankfully he has enough until my boyfriend gets paid but I just feel terrible we can’t provide enough for my son. I really need to get on WIC. I don’t really know much about it or how to get started but someone told me if my son has Medicaid (which he does) that we could get automatically accepted, is that true? What does WIC even include? I know it includes formula but I’m not sure what else

Just go to a wic office they accept walk ins. You'll get formula, baby food, baby cereal, milk, eggs, cheese, money for fruits and veggies etc.

Baby food too😱😱 I didn’t know that!! So I can just go to a WIC office and they could help me with the application process? Getting him on Medicaid was such a pain this seems a lot easier

You can literally look up your nearest WIC office and set up an appt. 9 times out of 10 if you’re already on Medicaid or food stamps they will approve you. Just let them know it’s urgent, or try and borrow money from someone until you can get the appt but they will give you the WIC approval the same day as appt. It includes milk, eggs, tuna, bread or rice or pasta, beans, cereal, oatmeal is an option, peanut butter, juice and then formula and probably something else I forgot lol and once your baby is old enough they’ll switch to the jarred baby food that they give you on there.

yeah you’re literally in the same situation as me. I’m also a SAHM. Just go on google and look up your states health and human services dept or how to apply for food stamps in your state, I’ve always done mine online. Because he lives in the household and will be eating the food then yes you’d include him. It looks like his monthly gross income has to be under $2600.

@radickmama15, I don’t make an income because I’m a SAHM and my boyfriend lives with me, so would they count his income towards it or just mine because we’re not married? 🤔 it sounds like if I get on WIC and food stamps we won’t have to pay much for groceries every month which would be a HUGE help for us. We barely even buy any groceries just because we never have a lot of money so our fridge is always pretty empty and I’ve been losing allot of weight bc of it 😩 now how do I apply for food stamps??? Is it online or do I need to go in person?

yes absolutely when I was living in Texas I was on all 3, since moving to North Carolina I am only on food stamps and Medicaid now but if y’all are seriously that financially unstable at the moment you should definitely try to get food stamps too, that will get you basically anything else you want or need for your house as far as like meat and water and basically anything else you’d want that your WIC doesn’t cover. It’s helped us out tremendously. It’s based on your income so if y’all are struggling I’d try it. I even had to do it before I even had kids bc my job wasn’t paying enough then.

@radickmama15, oh really?? That sounds so easy. I thought it was going to be complicated. And just Medicaid, but if I’m on WIC and Medicaid can I still get food stamps? I’m sorry for all the questions I just know nothing about this!!

they should have it on a card, at least they did in Texas. It had a chip in it just like a normal debit card and it’s so helpful to have. There is absolutely no reason they should not approve you, especially given your circumstances. Are you on food stamps as well or just the Medicaid?

My son is on Medicaid so I’m hoping they will approve. I’m gonna look one up now and see if I can go today, thank you so much!!!!❤️ so if I go and get approved today, I can use WIC to go get his formula?? Is it like a credit card or a voucher?
