So I tried talking to my obgyn about my blood pressure being high in the middle of the day after my morning pills wear off and she said if I feel like my blood pressure is too high and I can't shake it to go to L&D. It's frustrating because I was just hoping she could raise my blood pressure medicine just a tiny bit and she wouldn't. Im on the lowest dose of the safest medicine.

What are you taking? Maybe you can take an evening dose as well?

I took that while preg with my first and I’m on it now for mild hypertension. My doc says it only lasts about 8-12 hours. What dosage are you on?

Had this same prob with all my pregnancies and they do this just to make sure you aren’t getting preeclampsia 👍🏼 cuz if they catch it too late, it leads to seizures, and organ failure 😱 high blood pressure is def something you do not want to just treat with pills. It’s super annoying, but it’s for the best 😉 hang in there! You’re almost there!

@savvysmom, it depends on your normal BP. Mine was always about 130/90 and when it got to 136-142, that’s when they would tell me to go to LD for a “stress test”. That’s when they would check my BP every 15 min to make sure it wasn’t consistently high.

Call your doc office to see what they would recommend too. Cuz there were times when my BP was 139, but I hadn’t gained any weight for the week or had lost weight, so they weren’t concerned. It’s confusing how they handle things sometimes

I called there labor and delievery and they were mad that my doctor didnt go over guidelines with me. They said a normal person would be concerning anything over 140/90 but for me they need it to be more like 150/90 and a constant headache, stomach pain or messed up vision
