Y’all, I can’t remember the newborn stage cuz madi spent it in the NICU, but a baby that’s 3-4 days old, how much milk should they be drinking? My best friend had her baby on friday and is struggling with feeding. Their daughter latches somewhat but doesn’t drink much. They’ve been feeding it to her with a syringe but she’s only eating about 10ml every 3 hours..

That seems a little low. My daughter was eating about 2/3 ounces every two hours.

That is less than an oz. she should be getting at least 2oz every 3 hrs
Is the baby okay? Because only getting 10ml isn’t enough for her to survive on 😭😭

They should see her pedi and a lactation consultant ASAP!
