So I got a letter today saying that my entire tax return went toward my student loan debt. I’m like are you kidding?! It was like someone ripped my heart out of my chest and stomped on it. ( it was over $4 grand I was getting back 😭) I cried I was so angry and upset like that’s not fair! I need to figure out who to call tomorrow to figure out some type of payment plan because I can’t have them garnishing my pay checks next! Like I don’t get any phone calls or mail or anything from them so how the hell am I suppose to know what’s going on?! 🤬

Do you not do monthly payments? You must really be behind for them to just snatch it up. Normally people pay something each month

Two years ago they took mine as well. We had bearly moved cities and I was counting on that money to settle us in and bam Never came. Went all to my student loan. Called got info I had to be on forgiveness for 9 months to get it in good standing. Now I’m paying monthly because now I know the consequences lmao. Got my income tax this year and last year. But if I mess up again there is no forgiveness plans. Watch out there no joke

They can take it. They took ours last year to pay my student loan debt and took the remaining out if this year's too. If it came from the IRS then it's perfectly legal.

They took mine for student loans as well. (Also over 4 grand) I didn’t even know my loans were in collections! Like how are you going to take my money which is mostly the child credit. How am I suppose to buy things my son needs now!!???

Right! It like broke my heart. I don’t think it’s right of them to just take your money like oh your getting a big check back! well now it’s ours because you haven’t been paying on your loans! Like I would pay on my student loans if I had a way too! I just had like no one to contact them or send money too?! But definitely not 4000$ in one lump sum. Maybe like 25$ a month. Ughh! This sucks

@missjess, right. I’m even ok with them taking what I have worked for and earned. But don’t take what I got because of my child. I don’t know about most people but I actually use that money for my child. Mine is at the point he needs an all new set of clothes now that he’s almost 2.

Are you sure you aren't being scammed? I don't think they can just take your tax return. Something sounds really odd here. I'd definetly investigate this if I were you and not by calling any one on the letter.

Def not a scam. If you have outstanding loans, ur tax return is theirs. Its their money.

The last time I tried to talk to someone they said my loan was already in collection and I was like but I should of been in forbearance or whatever it is when you don’t make enough money to make payments but some how something got messed up and it went to collection and so now idk :/

Yes they def do that and do not have to tell you. You owe money...they are taking it however amd whenever.

@missjess yeah it sucks. My husband went thru it a couple years 😔 at least you will be out of debt. You should check to see how much left is owed

@doubleksmommy, probably still a lot :/ I’ll find out tomorrow . Hell I would of rather that money gone toward my other debt which would of paid them off then go toward my student loans. Makes more sense that way! so then those 2 things would be paid of! Smh 🙄 I only have debt because I was sick for a long time and barely worked so I had hardly any money so my bills got behind and behind and behind. And at this point I don’t even know where they stand. I guess maybe this could get me back on some good ground And maybe start paying some stuff back off? Start working toward some good credit again!

Oh no that’s a thing. They can and will 100% garnish your wages. You won’t be seeing that money.

I know I’m so mad but there’s nothing I can do about it :/ sigh just really really sucks cause I needed that money for things for my son. But I need to figure out a payment plan ASAP so they can’t rob me of anymore of my hard earned money!

So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.

He saw a post she made where she bashed her parents and cursed them, called them lazy and told them they should pay her for stuff she did around the house... So he called her out on it and put the video on her page!! Sorry if I missed a post already about this already, but I just saw the video and IT WAS AWESOME!!! Hahahhaa!
