So I saw something on FB earlier talking about kissing your kids on the mouth is sexual. It's crazy. Some people never stop kissing their parents on the mouth and some people think it's gross and sexual. Honestly for me it depends on the kid, some kids grow out of it and some don't. What do you all think?

All the kids in my family kiss on the lips. They'll stop when they want to. I don't see anything sexual about it but then again I don't believe in PDA in front of kids. Other than a hug or quick peck on the lips🤷

Toddlers. Sure. Teens and adults no. It's weird. Wouldn't call it sexual because it's their child. Cheek I think is perfectly fine

I never did it with my parents or any other family but I don't think it's "sexual" 🤦🏻♀️. If my babys dad ends up being a lip kisser I wouldn't think "oh my gosh he's a creep" or something.

The ONLY reason I kiss my son on the mouth is because he doesn’t understand the concept of just kissing him on the cheek. He sees me and his dad kiss so he’ll come up to us, grab our face, and kiss us too. I don’t think it’s sexual, but I just don’t like the thought of spreading sickness and germs to my baby through kissing.
Now when it comes to adults kissing their parents on the lips, I don’t necessarily think it’s sexual, but I find it very weird.

I give my baby kisses on the mouth and she will come up to me and give me kisses I don’t think it’s weird I used to give my mom kisses on the mouth when I was little . My mom will sometimes give me little pecks lol but I mostly give her kisses on the cheek now. I agree tho people who sexualize it are creeps.

One thing I miss about my dad not being here anymore is his big sloppy kisses on the lips! I used to hate them so much and be like " DAAAAAAAD" 🤦♀️ But now he's gone, I miss them more than anything! It's a personal thing I think, I kiss Rylan on the lips all the time but his dad won't. Only likes cheek kisses. Unless your inbred weirdos, there's nothing wrong with it.

my babies kiss me on the mouth but my 8 and 6 yr old kiss me on the cheek cuz thats what their comfortable with. and theres nothing sexual about it

I will be the odd one out. First, I do not think it’s sexual, and think nothing of other people doing it. But I do not kiss my kids on the lips. That wasn’t something we did growing up and it’s just not something I do. I am an emetephobe (afraid of all things vomit related) and do not need to increase my chances. I also do not share drinks or silverware with my kids.

@nerdymommyplus2, not super germaphobic, no. I always make sure my kids wash their hands right when they get home from school or any public place. I talk to them about not putting their fingers in their mouths. Basically anything that might prevent stomach viruses! I get super anxious thinking about them getting and bringing home stomach bugs!! I can’t take it!!! I feel like I’m temping fate right now talking about it!!!! 🦠😬

@nerdymommyplus2, the fear is all centered on vomit. Doing it, seeing it, hearing it. I’m able to take care of our children after they’ve done it, but I can’t clean it up. My husband has to do that. Sometimes I will have an anxiety attack about it and he will talk me down. If I say I feel like I might get sick. He will ask if my stomach really feels funny. Answer is no, and he holds my hand and calms me down. 🤷🏼♀️ If I hear it’s going around school, ugh!! Am I super weird? 😂 It’s my phobia. And it’s real. 🥺

Just depends on what each parent & child is comfortable with. It's not sexual at all! My 12 & 4 yr old kiss me on the cheek & my 2 yr old goes right for my mouth. 🤷♀️ My mom was still trying to kiss me on the lips as an adult & I was totally not comfortable with it so I just kiss her cheek & she took the hint after a few times. Lol My Pop-Pop used to give me these big wet kisses on my lips & he would just pull me in til I couldn't get away & it was sooooo nasty! 😂🤢🤮 I think it's all about comfort level & as long as each person is mutually comfortable than there's nothing wrong with it. I definitely don't think any of it if I see other adults kiss their parents, it's just not my comfort level.

Omg it’s not sexual. If your French kissing a kid it’s sexual. People take things too far. If you don’t wanna kiss your kids on the lips that’s fine but don’t turn something that’s not sexual and tell everyone it is
