Feeling like a failure today.
Found out his low thyroid was due to malnutrition. He was nursing often and seemed good, but I was literally starving him. He never cried like he was hungry and he had normal diapers. But he managed to loose 2lbs over 3 months. Finally found a formula that he liked and he gained 300mg since check in. He came close to needing a tube but he finally took the bottle with less than 20min left on the countdown.
He was so smiling and happy I never would have thought. 😩
Just happy that he’s gaining it back.

Yours not a failure, you had no idea!! You were doing everything just right. You can't blame yourself for not knowing. I'm so glad he's gaining now. Keep your head up. ❤❤

The Drs are super shocked they expected him to gain 20-50mg overnight and he did way more. They told me they usually would keep us for 5 days but they don’t see a reason to. So they are sending us home today with a follow up on Monday. I just can’t believe I didn’t notice it. We’re together 24/7

His last appointment was @ 3mo then his 6mo appointment was canceled due to Missouri snow/ice and yesterday was the reschedule. She’s the one who noticed it at the appt
