Having to go onto the monitor for contractions && get some kinda vaginal pill to be inserted every night until Wednesday. Was told I have a short cervix && it’s starting to open. Which they are saying could send me into preterm labor, which would be too early to deliver. Having to get another ultrasound Wednesday. Any one have any experience with their cervix opening earlier than 20 wks?
20 weeks last time I started dilating. Which isn’t unusual for me having 6 babies but still concerning. They may do a cervical cerclage or bedrest or modified bedrest or progesterone or any combination
I have an incompetent cervix. Ive also had to use progesterone pills. I currently have a cerclage and doing progesterone shots once a week. My cerclage gets removed once i am 36 weeks if everything goes well. This is my second pregnancy since i was diagnosed with an incompetent cervix.
If your cervix have shortened definitely take it easy. Try not to be on your feet for so long. If you have to use the restroom try not to push. Drink prune juice or take colace to soften your stools. Also no sexual intercourse. If your cervix continues to shorten, they might end up putting you on bedrest. They will most likely monitor you every week or every other week depending on your situation. &’ You will have to get ultrasounds during these appointments ( usually transvaginal ) to keep an eye on your cervix to see if there’s been any changes.
Thank you soooo much!!! This information && support is sooo useful && mind calming.. thank you!
@zoeysmom28, No problem 😊 Take it one day at a time. Prayers for you and your little babe 💗
@zoeysmom28 that was an option but when I went for a follow up a week later, they told me it wasn't needed because they saw an improvement.
&& everything is okay?
