My parents didnt spank me but I'm super polite, I have respect for people and I practice trying to be an overall good person so I guess no hands/weapons work too.

I don't agree with using physical punishment against a child. To me, it's abuse. And I notice the ppl who do spank like to post about it like it's something to be proud of. It just makes me feel sad for the defenseless child. There's such a thing as time outs, take things away, age appropriate punishments, but these punishments take patience and parents that hit likely snap too quickly and could benefit from therapy.

Me getting spanked as a child had me suffering for years in an abusive relationship because it taught me that people that physically harm you still love you. If I was never hit I would have ended my relationship at first signs of abuse.

My parents spanked me as a kid. As a result, now I suffer from psychological disorders called “Severe trust issues & lack of respect for my parents.”

These broad generalized teachings need to be curbed ASAP. A lot of kids do not need a violent reaction from their parents to be raised well.

also i was spanked maybe 3 times in my life and it was when my dad was mad and i dont agree with that.whatever you do you should be consistent and not do when angry

i believe in spanking when necessary. i dont care what anyone says. i have 4 children all different ages and all different personalities. i believe in age appropriate punishments. i dont spank mine for everything but if its something seriously bad then yes. i talk to them explain what they did wrong and why it was wrong and i spank them afterwards i let tuem know i still love them. i also believe in time outs and grounding and taking things away. all age approprate and every child is different so you gotta find what works for your child. everyone tells me how well behaved my children are and its because theyve learned right from wrong and that actions have consequences. i will never understand the craze about not spanking your child but i respect every parents right to uniquely parent THEIR child that being said i HATE when people try to down parents for spanking or tell them how to parent or say its child abuse 😏 no one will change my mind.
