Any moms out there have experience with homemade baby formula? (Baby under 1 year old).
No cow milk, soy, bone broth, or rice derived since she is only 5.5 months old and rice and soy bases have health risks regardless of age.
I am aware of risks from commercial formula as well as benefits (such as less chance of measurement and cleanliness issues).
If I do make her formula, it will be under the guidance of her doctor.
I'd like to hear about anyone's experience. The good and the bad!
I don't produce enough breast milk unfortunately.

She didn't have a latch issue when my supply went down drastically (when I already didn't produce enough..).
But yeah now she may be confused and I tried again yesterday to get bit down on hard with her two bottom teeth!
I'm thinking of seeing a lactation consultant but feel like there's no new advice they can give me. And ridding the bottles would mean for her to only eat real food unless I tried to nurse while using a tube attachment.
Wic lady told me to hand express as much as I can all day and I'm going to try using a tube attachment but I will need to buy nipple shield since she's biting Haha.
@divinely_favored I'm setting up an appointment with lactation consultant. I'm going to see what advice they have and even if I can take medicine to stimulate more prolactin hormone!
@momof2prince
Store bought formula has lots of unnecessary ingredients that aren't healthy. Of course lots of good stuff in it too! We get some under w.i.c. but with government shutting on and off, we may not have any help on that soon.
I haven't asked her doctor yet which I will do later this month.
Ok keep me posted never thought about making my own I would love to hear and learn more about it
@divinely_favored I have right everything, especially more breast time which is the #1 way but then she started to not care to latch only nibbles. Any tips? I hate her barely getting breast milk!
