Was reading articles and was wondering your ladies opinions on the matter... Is it ok to smoke Marijuana during pregnancy? 👍🏼👎🏼
New research comes out every week about the adverse effects of smoking marijuana during pregnancy.
Lower birth weight, higher chances of schizophrenia, learning disability, anxiety to name a few.
As of right now there shouldn’t be anymore “what’s your opinion” - at this point the scientific evidence is pretty solid. Do not smoke while pregnant.
Well I strongly believe that a plant is far safer than a bunch of chemicals (man made). Everyone has an Endocannabinoid system, this is why weed helps relieve symptoms as we have these receptors in us before we was even born. They are even found in breastmilk. The only reason it’s labelled a drug is because it HELPs us. Do your research, learn about your body.
I’m not saying smoking is good because tobacco and the papers are harmful however weed has never killed anyone, the flu shot has though. Just saying!

By the way, the delays usually present themselves as learning disabilities or struggles with things like memory, executive functioning, decision-making, social skills, etc. Not usually things like gross motor skills, in case anyone is wondering.
When I was pregnant with my son I lost over twenty pounds from morning sickness, threaten miscarriage bc I couldn’t eat anything. I did edibles. I do not regret my decision at all. And if anyone wanna judge me go right ahead. Idgaf. Because I had a perfect beautiful healthy baby boy was was not under weight. Who was walking by 9months who isn’t delayed in anything. Marijuana helped my morning sickness and I would do it all again if I had to.
@dawnrose, oh okay now I’m no longer confused. I know women who claim their docs say go ahead but I always feel it’s a lie because it’s such a big liability no matter what they believe. I’ve fostered 3 pot babies. One mom lost 2 they were adopted. But she was a POS teen mom with no interest in the boys anyways. The other was temporary while the parents had to to some drug classes. 🙄
@joeywiththegoodhair, yeah well I did what I did and don’t regret it. I’m afraid If I stayed on the man made drug I would have miscarried my son. So it is what it is. It made me feel better than he drugs my doctor prescribed to me. And I wouldn’t consider my son a “pot” baby. I didn’t do it throughout my pregnancy nor did he ever have it in his system since he was a fetus.
It truly saddens me when I see moms trying to justify smoking marijuana while pregnant 😪
No.
Besides all the obvious points from the lovely ladies above.
It’s god damn trashy. Don’t be that hoe.
I would not risk it. You will only carry that baby for 9 months but your actions will determine how they will be for the rest of their lives.
Marijuana is a drug (regardless of legal status) which means it alters your body chemistry from its natural balance. If it isn't medically necessary and cleared by your dr, then it's not ok to smoke it.
Like, it might be "legally okay" to drink a glass of wine or smoke cigs during pregnancy, but why risk harming your baby? It's just selfish.
I wouldn't smoking is smoking , it still does harm. If you need it for like morning sickness then I'd try in an edible or oil or something. I wouldn't smoke it.
There’s no scientific proof that is causes harm. My friends dr told her if anything it would help her morning sickness. And what about the states where medical marijuana is legal. What about the pregnant moms who have a prescription for it?
There’s no proof that it doesn’t cause harm either. Why risk it? It’s legal here, medically and recreationally. I’d never gamble with my child’s future.
Exactly. I have the worst morning sickness with this baby, I thought it was bad with my daughter until I got pregnant again. That is why I smoke it because of the morning sickness. I actually got a prescription for my morning sickness when I was pregnant with my daughter and I took it for the first trimester and found out that I got recalled because of birth defects. So even things that doctors prescribe you can harm your children
Tbh my sister smoke when she was pergo baby was fine but she didn't smoke her whole pregnancy not saying is good to smoke while your pregnant but she only did it for the morning sickness but yeah the baby was healthy and fine
