In honor of Black History Month, I would like to share the origin of #bellybirth. In modern days, this is called a c-section. This procedure was invented by African women centuries ago before it became a standard practice globally.
The Romans didn’t quite perfect this method though. It was mostly done on already dead women or the women would die. So this is very interesting thank you for sharing! Maybe we should rename C Sections?
@jellybeans33, the name comes from Julius Caesar but the perfected practice of the procedure where the patient is sedated, materials sterilized, and both mother and child survived was conducted in Western Uganda.
