I really don’t want to be ungrateful but I feel like everyone is only buying us baby clothes as gifts for my shower. I made a registry for a reason cause I don’t need any clothes but there are other great things that are inexpensive that I really could use. I feel like a jerk.. I just know I’m going to end up returning everything and just getting the things from the registry that I need. I feel ppl hear baby and just buy clothes.. I’m incredibly grateful anyone would even take the time and buy us something but I wish they’d listen to what we are actually needing instead of what they want to buy🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️... Am I wrong to feel this way!?

I feel ya! This is one of the main reasons we didn’t tell anyone the gender! We didn’t get any clothes doing it that way. People just bought from our registry instead.

I made a registry for nothing cause people don't want to read or just want to get you what they want regardless. I had to return or exchange so maybe things cause I had doubles or didn't need 😒
Oh wow.. I’d feel awful if I got something for someone that they didn’t want. I just follow their wishes or give cash lol

Nope. I felt the same way. And now my daughter has a ton of clothes. Most of which she isn’t going to get to wear. My daughter was born in October. So why buy her summer clothes in a size 0-3 month?? It’s not summer and it’s cold. People don’t think about stuff like that. And you’re right, they only buy what they want. I don’t think you sound selfish at all. You sound realistic
Realistic yes!! That’s exactly what I was hoping I sounded like.. tho I do still feel like a jerk.. These kids grow so fast! I still have clothes from my daughter that she never wore cause they either never fit for the months/seasons or I just had too many.. It’s bad cause we are so unprepared rn and I could really use the help with some of these items. Body wash, diapers, wipes... the realistic gifts.
Not at all. You don’t need that many clothes in the beginning. Exchanging it for things you’ll actually use is better then the baby growing too fast and never getting to wear every outfit you were given.

@harloeagain21, I guarantee no one would be offended by you exchanging something. If they are, well then that’s just silly. But I think people understand that kind of thing.
This was me too it was to the point I had to take all clothes of the registry.I think it’s a go to because before I got pregnant and actually had to think about all the stuff a baby needs I would brings clothes as my baby shower gift.
Girl me too!! It’s gotta just be a mindset and then you actually have kids and realize it lol.. I always buy off the registry or things I know I would need

All I got was mostly clothes and we had plenty already and we got like 2-3 things off my registry. I was so thankful they got me anything because they didn’t have to. I still kept everything and didn’t return any of it.
@maddiesmommy16, the shower is in 9 days and not a single thing from the registry has been purchased so I’m guessing I’m getting clothes... Least you had everything you needed an could just keep it all lol
@harloeagain21, nothing on my registry showed as bought but I did get some stuff off of it. I think people forget to tell the cashiers it is for a registry and so it stays on your registry. I hope that is the case and you get at least a couple of things off of it.

People rarely buy from registries from what I've seen. I'd just ask for gift cards if you're just going to return what people spent money on.
I honestly am not expecting them too and did write in the invite gifts are not required but I did made a registry b/e ppl asked.. I just wanna celebrate this new little life

So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that
