I hate to admit this but my mistake as a single mother was moving in with my boyfriend. I don't know if it's because I let him move in to soon or what it is. 3 years down the road and I still feel that way off and on. I still feel like my child is MY child even though my boyfriend refers to himself as "dad" and says he loves my son. And I still get irritated when my boyfriend has a confirtion with my son. I feel that I have to protect him and that sometimes I feel like he doesn't understand my son and that he has to be this perfect little boy and always listen and always have a good attitude for my boyfriend to talk nicely to him. And that's just not how being a parent works. You try to understand him and talk nicely to him always. Maybe you have to be a little stern sometimes but not ride to him. I feel like I have failed my son in so many ways and that I moved to fast. And no matter how many times I try to explain it in the nicest possible way, I get ignored and not heard because he has it in the back of his head that he is in fact his dad. I never wanted a FATHER figure for him. I wanted a positive make role model for him. Should have said something sooner to him and now we have a 1 year old together and pregnant with the second. Honestly don't know where to go from here. We are just on 2 different pages when it comes to what I want. What he thinks I wanted for my son and how we parent

I don’t play when it comes to how my kids are treated , if he isn’t treating your son right , make moves so that you can get your own place .
