Any ladies here managed to keep their nipple piercings even with breastfeeding? I don't want to keep the jewelry in while my baby nurses but asking if it's practical to take them out/put them back in that often long-term or if I should just let em go for good

Yeah, I've read that. I've also seen that keeping the jewelry in during feeding can make it hard for baby to latch and can make them slurp/gag more. Since I want to make feeding easy I thought about just taking the jewelry out for it but removing and replacing the jewelry so often is liable to cause trauma to the site

try it personally and see how your body and that baby reacts to it being out . Then you would know if it’s for you for sure

@scared_shtless, honestly I was thinking about the baby so much I really don’t remember . But it only took a few months and I never put the barbell back in. I’ve read that Mother’s still breastfeed their kids and have their nipples pierced They would Put it in when they’re not breastfeeding .

yeah I would figure that my only thing is pulling the bar in and out that much would cause lymph to produce to "heal" it and I wonder if that would tamper with milk or baby's health.
Idk how I feel about losing the piercings forever tho lol

that’s true there’s are pros and cons to taking out the piercing . I want to get mines back😩 . But the healing process is gonna suck . Honestly talk to an licensed piercer to see if taking the bar/ring in and out is gonna infect the piercing or effect you breastfeeding

I had mine pierced and I took them out even before I got pregnant and was still able to put a bar in again, but with a newborn they breastfeed constantly, so having to put the bar in and out again I think would be a huge pain! Maybe every couple days put the bar in to be sure the hole isn’t closing
