@young.beautiful3 ya that makes no sense if he signed the birth certificate why he would now want a DNA test, maybe to try and avoid more child support but I'm not sure. I noticed you're in my hometown and va beach doesn't like dads who try and play the system to avoid child support. Good luck girl I hope the process is an easy one for you!

@young.beautiful3 , no there was no DNA test because he signed all their birth certificates. Usually a judge will tell you where and when you need to go have the test done by and then you and all 3 kids will go and get your cheek swabbed and then he'll so the same and then you'll wait on results and once they come back you'll go back to court for the results and for the judge to order child support. My ex is only the father to my older 4 but you're right 100 a month isn't enough but luckily my husband and I don't depend on it because like I said he never pays.

He only wants DNA test for my youngest and he signed her birth certificate. So why in the hell would he need or want a test.

Just because he signed the birth certificate that doesn't mean anything my boyfriend signed my daughters and they still needed a DNA test and we are an intact family that lives together.

@sleepymommy that's interesting I've never heard of them doing one for someone who signs the birth certificate and acknowledges paternity.

My ex is incarcerated and I haven't received anything while he's been locked up. Of course he wasn't paying before but that's beside the point. After he had been in like two years he took me to court and the judge lowered it from 600 a month to 100 a month because he doesn't have a steady income.

One a month with 5 kids. That's nothing.. I have 3 and u can't do 100 a month.
So did you do a genetic test. That's my first step. Don't know what to expect.

I got a letter from department of child support saying I needed to go to court for a genetic test

They will have to do the test while he's in jail if he refused that's where it will get tricky because you will have to take him to court to get it. You need to call your local child support office and tell them hes locked up and you don't know how to go about getting the test done. But again with him in jail don't expect a pay out more then likely they will just make him pay back child support and you won't get that either
