Thoughts on hand expressing colostrum before baby?
My friend lives in Australia and I guess her midwife actually instructed her to express colostrum in the last few weeks of her pregnancy. It’s called antenatal colostrum expression.

Before I had my daughter and was living in Nova Scotia the ob there gave me syringes and told me to hand express and put it in the syringe and freeze them for when baby was born. So I did it. Looking back it probably wasn’t a great idea lol.
Nipple stimulation can lead to labor, so my thoughts are no.
Yeah I’ve always heard that!! I know some people express and save the colostrum, but I worry about that as well. Just seeing if anyone does it 🤔🤔 it’s all new to me! My first son was strictly formula!
@-boytribe no need, your body will produce once baby is born
Best to just leave it for the baby until after they are born.
I used my pump 10 days before my due date and later that day started having contractions. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you are trying to induce labor.
