Anyone else’s kids stay home almost 24/7? I feel so bad that my two year old is inside our house a majority of the time. But it’s hard to even take him outside because we don’t have a big yard, he doesn’t really have any outside toys, and the road our house is on is always SUPER busy. The speed limit is 35 but people are constantly doing 50 up and down the road and it just makes me so nervous... my boyfriend (his dad) & I try to take him to the park on the weekends when we’re off but lately it’s either been too cold or raining. When I go to the store or something I almost always try to take him with me just so he can get out of the house for a bit and my boyfriend hates it. Sometimes going grocery shopping can be a struggle because he whines and wants to walk around on his own so my boyfriend tries to keep him at our house with our roommate while we go shopping or whatever and it just makes me feel so bad...
Can you find an indoor play area or Chuck E. Cheese even where he can run and be free? In my opinion, kids need physical activity outside of the house for their mental and physical health. I’m sure there’s a lot of outlets for him close to you, you just need to find the right ones. Especially at his age, it may be inconvenient but it’s super necessary.
That’s why I feel so bad, it’s not good for him to be stuck in the house all the time. It’s not good for anyone, any age! We live in a small town and have to travel an hour and a half or more for anything like that but since I’m gonna be out of work for a few weeks when I have this baby, I’m definitely wanting to find some things to take him to do!
I don’t know how you do that ! My son is out the house nearly all day everyday, he needs it to tire him out. Can you not look in to classes ? My son does crèche, forest school, football, swimming and gymnastics
Ours barely leave we haven’t been out of our house since Christmas Day and the baby is super cranky now but the weather has been horrible and cold snowing and raining and there both sick but my husband wants to run errands tomorrow so I told him let’s all go just to get them out of the house and usually even just going to Walmart is enough for them
Yup all of mine are home pretty much all time. Not packing up 3 and going to a park daily because we have no yard. I also can't lift them all day long especially out side and putting them in the car. I have scoliosis and degenerative disk disease. My back kills me most of the time, especially after having my twins. It's 10 times worse from picking to babies up all the time
Why can’t he walk at the grocery store? Sounds like you need to find some ways to get him out that works for your family ☺️
I’m just super paranoid with all the sex trafficking and kidnapping stories going around. I’m terrified of someone even trying to snatch him out of the cart lol
@tylersmommy11116, I hate to sound harsh but that’s not an “lol” that’s irrational fear type stuff. Your son needs to socialize without these fears being instilled in him kids are like sponges...you should not fear your child being in a grocery store or super market. It’s one thing to be safe and conscious and teaching our kids that but your child should not be taught to fear walking in a grocery store hun. You need to find safe ways to socialize your son.
