I was induced at 40 weeks with my first. I was 18 and told he was going to be too big for me, that he would be close to 9 pounds. I had a fast induction, he was born in 3 hours after starting it. They were wrong and he was only 7 lbs 14 oz.
I say if you don’t need to be induced to let your body go naturally. My midwife was willing to let me go a week over due before inducing. I didn’t want to be induced. I know some women don’t have a choice though
I needed to
Be for medical reasons , but just the part where they
Gave me
Medication to open my cervix . I never got pitocin as I started dilating on my own and
My water broke on it’s own . It wasn’t too bad at first . I
Got an epidural, it only
Worked on one side , they had to come and top it off . I was exhausted I couldn’t push my daughter out ,almost had to have an emergency c. She was delivered by vacuum and episiotomy ( which I felt
Because my epidural wore off and i wasn’t
Numb) . I went in on Friday and had her Sunday morning .
I was induced, unfortunately it didn’t worked for me. Had a c section after all (( I was 41+ weeks. I hated being in the bed for almost 2 days. And just waiting for something to happen.
I had to be for medical reasons. Hated being stuck in bed and waiting around. And the meds they gave me caused overactive contractions so to slow them down I had to get an epidural to relax my body better. Wasn't planning on getting it, but did what I needed to for my son. The epidural did slow things down contraction wise, made them less on top of each other. But I really wish I could have gone into labor naturally.
