Had to set my fiancee straight tonight when he said cna's must take pride in being called "certified ass wipers" in one day I've been called a "stupid b*tch", a "f*cking a**hole", got stuff thrown at me, got swung at, got shoved, got kick(by a like 230lb male). Did I wipe their ass? Yes. But I also massaged a residents hands because they hurt, I hand fed a resident their meals, I hugged one who was crying because she wanted to leave and couldnt, and hug them and talk to them when they want to see their families who never visit. Us CNAs are so much more than "ass wipers"

Amen!!!!!!!! I was a CNA/HHA for almost 10 years, people font understand the abuse we go through, but all that gets forgotten when you know you have been able to make a difference in a client/residents life even if it is something so small like applying lotion or just sitting and having a conversation,

💯I agree. I do the same and most people that treat us like we are nobody are the ones that leave their family members for dead and take their money.

I think it takes a very big heart to do those type of jobs because they could not pay me enough to do the things that you all have to do, so good for you. 👏🏾
