Any moms have to take progesterone shots? Here's my story. I have a 2 year old son and he was born at 36 weeks! He was breech and broke my water! He was perfect and healthy and weighed 6lbs and the whole pregnancy I knew I was farther along than what my due date anticipated. Now I am 11w pregnant and they want me on progesterone shots once a week staring at 16w. I have done my research and read that it is not guaranteed to work and also there are so many risk as well... including preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, stillborn and preterm labor( go figure ) Those risks just alarm me and I told my doctor I dont feel comfortable with that. My last pregnancy i had high blood pressure and gestational diabetes and i have lost 60 Lbs this past year and much healthier!!! I am scared to put myself at risk with these shots. Any moms do them? Also to mention i have a friend who did them and it ended up backfiring and she had to deliver at 34 weeks due to preeclampsia!!!

I am 32 weeks & I have 4 shots left, I started with makena and then went to the generic shot because of a shortage of makena. I’ve had no issues so far with them.

@brose0205, to me there is just too many risk! And i gave birth to my son at 36 weeks and he was fine and I'm pretty sure I was more farther along. I feel like if i do accept the shots I'll literally stress out the whole thinking of these risks and that stress is not good for the baby 😭 I'm so torn on what to do! Thank you for answering

I was worried as well, but you’ll have routine ultrasounds I believe. I did, & that will also help seeing the growth!! It’s a hard decision but I’m glad I did it because I’m way passed the 23 week marker. If i was in your situation I don’t think I would get them either just because you weren’t so early. I have no experience or knowledge about this particular medication but will say this, as with any medication, when the risks outweigh the benefits I'm out. Speak with your provider and make the best decision you can after getting ALL of your questions answered. Best of wishes.

The doctor told me the benefits outweigh the risk 😨 so idk what to do!

: Get a second opinion and ask for literature on the medication and need for it. If you have a good doctor they will give you the answers needed to make a clear and concise decision even if not the one they wish you to make. Regardless of your decision make the one that makes the most sense to you and your husband and stick by it without regrets no matter the outcome. This baby is in God's hands and if you are meant to hold him/her in yours God will provide the way. Only He knows fully well what will be. I'm sorry you have to go through this storm but I believe with my whole heart that God has this under control!!! Hugs mama!!! No amount of stress will help us. We must stay calm in the face of the storm. I know, easier said than done. Prayers dear!!!
