So my sons belly button healed, and over the past week it’s begun looking like this. Moms??
Let me know what they tell you I’m out of the state and we don’t go back home till next Friday :(
I know I thought it was silly what my mom said too but I guess it’s something common that happens to babies 🤷🏻♀️
@nellyrojas1994, see my doctor advised seeing him sooner we go on Wednesday. My husband mother said tape a coin & just smooshing it with his diapers. Lol I laughed in her face
He doesn’t seem bothered at all my mom said that back in Cuba they would wrap a little gauze around the belly button to keep it smooshed down 🤷🏻♀️ his appt isn’t till the 20th his 2 month check up but I’m going to call and see if they want me to bring him in sooner.
Well now everyone told me what it is, does anyone know what causes it? I’m not looking on google it’ll freak me out
My son also has developed a hernia in the last few days :(
My son had that.. I would but my son’s diaper over it to smush it back down. Seemed to work and now his belly button is fine.
Definitely a hernia. I haven’t seen one quite this large on a baby, so I’d definitely let the doc take a look at it, but usually they take care of themselves.
My daughters both had umbilical hernias, both still have outties (5&7) my older daughters is still a bit larger but dr says it’s fine. If they do choose to correct it with surgery it won’t be until after he is 4-5 years old. They can take quite long to correct but do usually correct on their own.
My sons did. His doctor checked it out but it think it took about a month.
@amouryaya09, @damn.it.red, so is it something that will eventually go down on its own ?
My son had the same thing. It took a while to go down.
@mommmy2k15, that’s Wednesday. He should be fine until then. Just keep an eye on it.
It’s an umbilical hernia. My oldest had one. But hers didn’t look this bad. He needs to go to the doctor and have it checked out.
@nellyrojas1994, will do & yes it looks so painful 😣 to just oddly go away on its own
