Had the biggest scare of my life today. My baby woke up from sleeping and started to give me the I’m hungry cry so my mom asked if she could feed him so I said okay. She was holding him and feeding him and he started to choke bc he was so hungry. So my mom sat him up and patted him on the back but all of a sudden he stopped breathing gasping for air. He’s okay now but I started to break out in tears crying hysterically grabbing him from my mom and just holding him and cuddling him bc ever since my little boy came into this world I never want to be with out him. Scariest thing I’ve been through.
@tiera_shaye, that is definitely beyond scary. What kind of nurses don’t listen 🙄that’s just very messed up of them. Thank God you know CPR. I don’t know CPR but I definitely want to learn since I have two little ones.
That happened to my daughter too. It started coming out her nose and she couldn’t breath. I grabbed my phone to call 911 but my husband got her cleared out. She did that several times so my dr suggested feeding her in an upright position and not laying her down for 30 minutes after. It seemed to work. Once her system got fully developed it stopped happening
So scary! I’m glad he is ok. Your mama bear instincts took right over. I hope you never have to go through something like that again.
@president.mommy.on.board., that happened to my daughter but she would choke on spit up of her amniotic fluid she swallowed during her birth. At one point her whole face turned really purple the first day she was born. So bad that I started trying to help her get it out by putting her head down and smacking her back and hit the call light and walked to the door because she still wasn’t breathing and when the nurse walked in she was still purple. And she took over doing the same. I’m so glad I am CPR certified. It has kept me calm with her. But I was so mad the other nurses didn’t believe me how bad it was and that I was over reacting as a first time mom.
@president.mommy.on.board., right?! And you should. Or even how to get food dislodged from a small child’s throat. Sadly my child has had to be helped recently from choking on some food. She decided not to chew something and started choking. More scary for her than me. But I had to rip her out of her high chair and turn her head down and smack her back a few times.
