today was the baby’s first week appointment, he hasn’t gained any weight since his birth weight 😕. i haven’t had much of an appetite since birth, and i breastfeed. i can’t help but wonder if it is it my fault, since i’m not taking in many calories due to not eating much 🤔 #help

Don't blame your self. I formula fed and my youngest took 7 weeks just to gain 1 ounce. At 4 months he is now 12 lbs 9 oz. Does your baby spit up a lot? Mine ended up having acid reflux and he would pretty much puke up whatever he ate. Switched to Enfamil AR and that's when he gained his weight.

They say that all babies usually lose a little weight after birth and then they should be back up to their birth weight by 14 days PP. So if yours is the same as a week ago, that's good!

Try pumping a little milk then feeding so he gets more hind(fatty) milk. Also try to eat protein and stuff like oatmeal for your milk to be more fatty, and it’s not bad fat it’s the good fat lol. Don’t worry I think every mom freaks out her first time breastfeed. I know I did so I stopped after two weeks.

Hey preggies! This is like a super nerd alert but I've found an equation developed and validated by researchers/OBs/mathematicians out of Duke Medical Center that predicts birth weight. Out of 87% of births, weight was predicted within 15% of actual birth weight- nearly the same accuracy as birth weight predicted via ultrasound. I just did the equation and if I had Baby D now, she'd weigh 6.46lbs!
