Hey preggies! This is like a super nerd alert but I've found an equation developed and validated by researchers/OBs/mathematicians out of Duke Medical Center that predicts birth weight. Out of 87% of births, weight was predicted within 15% of actual birth weight- nearly the same accuracy as birth weight predicted via ultrasound. I just did the equation and if I had Baby D now, she'd weigh 6.46lbs!
I know right, I'll definitely keep you posted ! @levleah
@just9monthsx3, really?? how cool! I can't wait to see what your next boy weighs!
Awesome that's great to hear ! Funny thing is my boys are about that weight if you were to combine and divide by 2!
@livd15, lol, sorry for the goof! My math skills haven't been used in a while 😂
@just9monthsx3, if your rate of weight gain for the remainder of your third trimester stays the same...7.916lbs at birth
@livd15, crap, I may have goofed... the weight should be what he'll weigh at birth, NOT now, and is based on if your current rate of weigh gain stays the same until you deliver.
@just9monthsx3, oops, forgot to ask if you've given birth before and if so, how many times. That's also a factor in the equation
no they haven't evn suggested it ! I actually don't like this practice at all but its too late to change now. I feel like they are really lazy and passive. that would scare me tho idk of I could do it ! they scheduled me for a csection already tho eeeee. and ya I'm almost tempted to call my doc right now and get my weight at 26 weeks to just make sure we are accurate and then see what they say Thurs too
@livd15, lol, now I'm curious to see what his ultrasound says he weighs! And my daughter is also currently breeched... has your dr tried to manually turn him? My dr wants to try to at my appt next week and I'm really nervous about it!
holy shit really ?? he was really chunky in the 3/d we had done last week but dayuuummm haha ok that sounds awesome ! I have an appointment Thurs w a sono cuz he's breech so I'm gunna ask what they say he is too and see. I could be off w my weights but I don't think I am by that much , ty!
@livd15, you're welcome! and I'm such a nerd because I totally had fun with this... when you give birth, give me your weight on the day you have him and i'll recalculate and we can see how accurate it is!
@livd15, ok so this is based on if you gave birth today (since I don't have your total rate of weight gain for your third trimester, only your rate of weight gain in your third trimester up until today)... 7.712lbs
@just9monthsx3, sure! any clue what you weighed at 26 weeks?
Can you calculate mine too @levleah I'm 5 '3 I was 153lbs at 28 weeks and I've gained about 15 lbs during my third trimester so far
@livd15, awesome... my OB has an online portal that allows me to look at all of the details of my appts so that's how I knew all of my weights. So just get me as close of a guess as you can get of your weight at 26weeks, 28 weeks and today's weight
@livd15, for third trimester weight gain... what did you weigh at 28 weeks and what do you weigh now? That'll give me the info to calculate rate of gain, if that's easier
@livd15, sure! I'll need your gestational age (in days), sex of your baby, weight at 26 weeks (as close a guess as possible), height, and how much weight you've gained in your third trimester (or as close a guess as possible)
@sarahemccormick, ps. don't let the crazy looking math intimidate you... it's easier than it seems!
@sarahemccormick, you do the multiplications first, then addition, then take the number you get and divide by 453 and that's the baby's estimated weight in pounds.
birth weight= gestational age (in days) * (9.38 + 0.264 * fetal sex (males=1, females= -1, unknown= 0) + 0.000233 * maternal height (cm) * maternal weight (kg) at 26 weeks + 4.62 * 3rd trimester maternal weight gain rate (kg/d) * (number of previous births + 1)
@sarahemccormick, It sounds super complicated, but it's really not! You have to be in your third trimester, since they use the third trimester rate of weight gain in the calculation. I'll post it in a separate comment, and can also email it with further instructions... or if any preggies can get me their numbers/stats I'll do the calculations for them!
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!

I will be 41 :/
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
@just9monthsx3, yay! 💙
