I’m sorry you’re dealing with all this. @laniejay, is right. “Actions speak louder than words.” My mom is stuck in an emotionally, verbally, and sometimes physically abusive relationship. When their baby was little, she stayed because he would say sorry and said he’d change. Now they have a 7 year old, and she’s been hospitalized twice, which is what brought me to her state. But now they are together still because he says he’s going to turn the kid against her. Which he will because he’s a selfish prick.

Anyways. That’s not my personal experience, but I do have one. This is what I’ll say. People tend to forget it. But it’s always true. Kids learn by watching you. It breaks my heart, but this 7 year old, is already acting like his dad. I wish cursing was the worst of it. I don’t know your guy. Or the ins and outs of what’s going on. I just know that little ones are very impressionable. I wish you the best. ❤️

@taymw11, if I remember correctly- he is abusive, correct? Then you didn’t give up on the marriage HE did. And if you return you’re not fixing your marriage, you’re giving him permission to abuse you again. You and your son deserve better. You didn’t say he wanted to see his son- you said he’s threatening to take him. There’s a difference.

They always do. I don’t think anyone can or will change basically over night.
