My hubby texts me and says we are going to drive two and a half hours to see his dad and I had to remind him that it is halloween and the kids have been so excited to wear their costumes because they have been asking about it for a week. Now my hubby is mad because I won't tell them we aren't going and break their hearts. I told him that he could go then and I could go with the kids trick or treating and have my brothers or mom help me. What do y'all think? Oh his dad said we didn't have to go because it is a little far. So he isn't expecting us. My hubby hasn't seen him since May. I feel lile we should wait until he is in the same city because he sometimes does end up in the same city. He drives a semi. I don't think we should ruin what the kids have been waiting for to drive 2 and a half hours. Spend maybe 30 minutes with his dad and then come back. They will miss everything!

Trick or treating is once a year. He can go, and you can take them out.

@roses702 thats what I said. If his dad was here tomorrow then I would say yes without a doubt but its Halloween. I'm not going to take it away from my kids when his dad could be close to us again next week!

I honestly think it’s kind of strange for him to pick Halloween of all days to visit his dad when he hasn’t seen him in so long. What’s a couple more days? I’d say no for the kids sake too

@sarahbethk he decided to treat me like shit. He Didn't come trick or treating with us just because I said no to taking the kids to see his dad. Even though he said he wanted our family together. Idk what to do. I'm so hurt and not just for me but for my kids too.

@mommyof.3 I'd be angry. There was no point in him ruining what should have been a fun family night together. When you're both calm, you need to really express how hurt you are and how his actions were entirely unnecessary and unfair to your kids. Not cool for him to act like a jerk because he didn't get exactly as he wanted.
