I cant tell if my daughters on the spectrum or just a misunderstood almost 3 year old.

She puts everything in her mouth still, throws tantrums, has a hard time making eye contact (more when shes upset), she would rather be alone then around kids 80%of the time. Shes got 2 imaginary friends that are her hands ones name is jaja. She just started introducing herself as jaja which is weird. She has sensory issues and will throw a tantrum if you insist on her doing the activity that involves the texture she doesnt like. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.

She is speech delayed as well. And has a hard time trying new things

Nothing wrong with talking to her doctor. The first step (in CA with Kaiser at least) is a written evaluation you send back to them then in person if they think it’s necessary

No hurt in getting her in with her doctor :) Maybe they can help you better understand each other.

@savvysmom try taking her to a pediatric Neurologist to do an evaluation just to make sure

Talk to her pediatrician if you are concerned. They will make recommendations and referrals and go from there. The sooner it is diagnosed, the better. If you need to chat, I just went through all this with my 3yo and he just recently got his formal diagnosis.
