Have any of you ever had a hernia with any pregnancies then due to it enlarging you need surgery to remove? And if so can that ruin chances of getting pregnant in the future??
I had an umbilical hernia after my first. My surgeon suggested I waited until I was done having children to have it repaired, I thought I was done so I got it repaired with a mesh. With my most recent pregnancy, my ob said she wasn't concerned & was sure it would stay in tact. I'm 5 weeks pp, & so far so good. My pp appointment is tmm so we shall see.
Mine is so bad it's a big hole in the middle of my stomach and my belly button stick out so much because of it it's real ugly very but they didn't repair it

No mother should have to deal with this, as it is we go through the pain of birth then to deal with a belly button extending out like a nose 😞 it’s horrible. God bless you stay strong, prayers that something will eventually come up to fix that. I pray that mine will git fixed and stay away ...I would like to have kids later on I’m not done ☹️but dealing with a popped out thing that can be seen through my clothes is so embarrassing 😢

@mrschanandlerbong95, so how’s it looking now being that you said it was repaired between pregnancies? Did the last pregnancy affect it or make it come back?

@e_elliana408 after my repair. I can't feel the mesh. But the recovery from that surgery was extensively painful! It hurt really bad to cough, sneeze, laugh at first even deep breaths. Anything that caused my abdominal muscles to move the slightest was excruciating.
@nellykay, aw you poor thing I can only imagine, I can’t even handle the discomfort I deal with on a daily with this hernia. I had it after my 2nd child slightly, then when I got pregnant with my 3rd it really popped out bad! Fast forward to now I’m pregnant with my 4th, 4 months along and it’s very uncomfortable and really pops out when it’s not suppose to til the end 😞
@e_elliana408, I had twins my last pregnancy, and no signs of it coming back. It was sore a lot during pregnancy, like i could feel pressure against it, but the mesh held up.
@mrschanandlerbong95, when you say mesh, when does that go away? Does it dissolve over time?? It’s the surgical mesh or is there different kinds of mesh?
@e_elliana408, it does not go away. A hernia is actually just a hole or tear in the abdominal wall. The lump is just the tissue and fat, and sometimes intestine, that squeezes through that tear. What happens is, they push all of the tissue or whatever back through the tear, place the mesh inside, and it acts as a door, keeping everything inside where it should be. Then they’ll close the hole itself. If that tear ever reopens, the mesh should still keep anything from getting through.
@e_elliana408 thanks my luv and yes it is my stomach is so flat but bell button looks like I'm pregnant i want one more then I'm done the more kids I have the more it spreads and they say it's dangerous being pregnant for me because my baby can get stuck in it so all my pregnancies have been high risk after my next one thou I'ma get it fixed
@e_elliana408 they won't do a repair for some strange reasons here in NY but when I was staying in Alabama they were willing

Thank you everybody! Love you ladies! For you mamas to open up and share these experiences has gave me relief, faith, and assurance to know I’m not alone on this issue that I’ve been keeping to myself for years. Causing me a bit of depression, this hernia can seem a small issue to someone else not experiencing it but it’s big problem for me when it affects my self esteem with clothing, swim suits, discomfort... there is not enough words to say thank you 💗💞 I can now put this to rest thanks to all of you, you ladies have made a difference by just sharing a experience/story. ❤️
