I was 8 weeks and there was just a sac (because baby never grew adequately). It's more about the size of the gestational sac.

@aengs2 so what does that mean was the baby ok

@kellybelly3434, No, unfortunately I had a miscarriage. There was a gestational sac and a yolk sac but the baby never grew. My body didn't realize it so I had to have surgery (a D&C). It happens sometimes. But if you're still early then there's still time for baby to grow. Your doctor will tell you if they're concerned.

@aengs2 did you have any symtoms during that time

@kellybelly3434, I still had all of my regular pregnancy symptoms. There were no signs that anything was wrong. I just went to my 8 week ultrasound appointment and there was no baby, no heartbeat even though the gestational sac was measuring pretty much on track. If you want to look it up, it's called a blighted ovum. It's happened to a few people I know as well. A lot of people don't know much about it but luckily I had already mentally prepared myself. I don't want to freak you out though!

This was my first ultrasound with my daughter and I was like 5 weeks 5 days or 6 weeks. Very small, there was a sac and baby but no heartbeat yet, just four days later they could see more and detect a heartbeat. So I'm guessing you're just shy of 5 weeks. Hang in there momma, easier said than done. Praying for peace of mind for you and a ultrasound soon to see your little bean.
