Anyone have a kid who has night terrors? What in the hell are you supposed to do during one??? Jackson has always had bad dreams, but this is the third night terror he’s had and I know they’re “normal” but trying to comfort him makes it worse. Do you just watch them???

@mommaofboyz, we try to hold him but he fights us off and thrashes around. It’s really scary and sad at the same time.

My 2 year old woke up One night running out of his room screaming and crying . I was scared I had no idea what was going on. My poor baby .. he was still half asleep but ran back to me and when I picked him up he fell asleep as if nothing happened. It was crazy.

I use to have them. Sometimes in bed, sometimes I would get up and walk to my moms room. She was told to just guide me back to my room, but NEVER try to wake me up.

I hold him and keep saying "it's ok, mommy is here" until he calms down.

my daughter started hers when she got a really bad flu and ear infection at the same time. since then she would have one here and there. We co-sleep so i pretty much wait it out until she starts to calm down and then i pick her up and just hold her in my arms and rock her, while telling her its okaay, mommy and daddy is here. she eventually calms down and is back to soundly sleeping again. If i grab her too soon she will tosss and kick and scream louder. Thats why i wait.

I read an article awhile back that said as long as they can’t hurt them self or aren’t then to let them scream it out because talking or trying to calm them only makes it worse.
