Does anybody know why they don’t induce labor if you had a c section before?. My doctor told me if by week 40 the baby…

@joselin.salazar47, I’m 38 weeks and 2 days today and this little girl keeps giving me braxton hicks and has me in pain but it’s not coming out lol. I really hope she comes before 40 weeks

It’s because contractions brought on by pitocin are strong as hell and they could rip your scar on the inside wide open, this is why some doctors won’t even risk Vbac unless it’s been some years in between kids

@karennn, my hospital wouldn’t allow me to go past 41 weeks. They don’t do pitocin on mommies that are doing vbac. But...if you had a successful vbac..your chances are so much higher for another successful one. I did squats the day before I had my baby. Maybe that helped. I had him at 38 weeks

Thank goodness they quickly put me to sleep first since she was breached and only 26 weeks

@karennn I had to quickly be put to sleep because I had 3 epidurals that failed and I could feel them cutting me

@blessed2018w9, Yess, Same here. Recovery was long for me. And on top of it, I tried to keep up with it and I would clean it and dry it good but it still got a little infected

@leeoshee, That makes sense then. Hopefully they come on their own, C sections are hell.

Yea my doc told me the same thing , I have to go in labor on my own they can give a small dosage to up contractions , but anymore more will repeture

@veemndz, I guess every doctor is different. They said they won’t let me go past 40 weeks and will not induce.

I was induced with my daughter due to high blood pressure. I Had a successful natural vbac

I've had 1 csection and 2 (successful) induced vbacs with pitocin and the pill in the vagina2..the first was 37wks and my last wasn't by choice...she closed her eyes and didn't wake up @24wks...now that I'm on the high risk side there saying I cant be induced that away but there considering the follie bulb I'll know more once I have my growth scan

@angelfoodcake, Yes. My first was an emergency c section but my second came at exactly 38 weeks through vbac and everything went fine. I want this one to be a vbac as well. A week ago I went to the OB and they said they do not induce labor to someone who had a c section before, They just do a c section if baby is not here by week 40.

I missed this week’s appointment and now I have to wait until this week coming to be seen
