I’m the worst ever! 😢

Iv been planning my best friend’s bachelorette party for a month now and it’s 1920s themed. Paid $58 for my costume plus $28 for the shoes, so I’m pumped to go. I’m breastfeeding so I’m not gonna drink and I’m going to be 1 of the 2 DDs.

Well I was thinking today that it was silly to spend that much for a dress when no one will see it because my baby K-Tan carrier is going to cover it up. Then it dawned on me... I can’t bring Emilio. Duh of course not, but it didn’t click in my mind until today... the party is in 2 days and I had to tell my best friend that I can’t go. No way I’m leaving my son with anyone he’s not even 2 months old, AND I’m strictly breastfeeding no pumping or formula so I can leave him anyway.

I’m not upset at all because no way a party is more important than my sons well being but I can’t believe it never crossed my mind until today that I can’t bring Emilio.

We’re going to have a dinner before the “party time” so I can at least go to that. But she seems pretty upset with me.

Does she have kids? She may not understand now, but one day she will. You’re attending what you can & shouldn’t feel bad about that. Plus you planned the whole thing, it’s not like you’ve done nothing for the event. Don’t feel bad. Family first.

Awe that sucks!! Your husband/ better half can't watch the baby? One of my dearest friends had her bachelorette party and I was about 2-3 weeks postpartum.. I pumped, left plenty of milk and I went for about two hours and came bk home. Daddy kept the girls for less than 3 hrs so everyone survived lol! My baby was 6 weeks at her wedding (7 hrs away) and my family traveled there too. I don't think your friend should be mad if you don't but I did it bc I knew that she would do it for me!

@ek620, she doesn’t have kids so I’m definitely understanding how she could be upset. But it’s just not something I’m comfortable with.

@kelley.blue, at 2months I’m still helicoptering over him. Even Dad hasn’t been alone with him. There’s no way I could leave him and not freak out the whole time. And I’m not pumping anymore just doing mouth to breast.

@kelley.blue, 😂😂😂 I can’t help it. My brain just automatically assumed Emilio was coming with me. No one even asked if I had got a sitter, and my husband didn’t ask either. Iv been going on and on about this event and planned the whole thing and not once did it cross my mind that I couldn’t bring my baby 😂😅

Poor thing😂.. I was like that with my first baby.. The second one I turned into a "bad mom" lol! Girl I was at the bachelorette party a few weeks postpartum, had a drink, pumped n dumped and started bk nursing her the next morning 😔😔😔. I would've NEVER did that with my first lol! I'm so embarrassed lol!

@kelley.blue, rofl I’m on my 3rd and have been the same for all of them. Maybe worse with this one. He’s my last due to medical issues.

@knockout, I know I'm awful lol! But that's even more reason for you to want to spend every second that you can with him.

#mombassadorchat Happy World Breastfeeding Week! Please share your breastfeeding stories and tips!

#mombassadorchat Happy World Breastfeeding Week! Please share your breastfeeding stories and tips! Hi everyone! @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom here. For today's chat we're going to talk about breastfeeding and pumping in honor of World Breastfeeding Week! Both can seem complicated or stressful, but remember you have lots of support here! With my first son I had things going against us for breastfeeding. I wish I knew back when he was younger that we could have still tried! With my second son I was determined to breastfeed, and even though he was born 11 weeks early I wasn't going to let that stop us from trying to breastfeed! For 7 weeks I pumped every 2 1/2-3 hours on the dot to establish and maintain my milk supply. When your little one is born early they usually need time to master sucking, swallowing, and breathing so I wasn't able to nurse right away. When my son was 33 weeks gestational (so 4 weeks old) we were finally able to latch on, and he did great! By 36 weeks gestational we had successfully started breastfeeding, and today marks 21 months of actual at-breast breastfeeding for us! I am passionate in trying to help moms-to-be and moms with breastfeeding and/or pumping, but I support moms who choose not to or for other reasons cannot breastfeed. Remember, I mentioned I didn't breastfeed my first son. I understand both sides. Breastfeeding isn't always easy, but I believe it's at least worth trying! Please help me celebrate World Breastfeeding Week by sharing your tips, questions, concerns, product recommendations, or anything else breastfeeding and pumping related! If you have a question for @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, please tag her in the comments below! Or share your advice and feeding stories.

Breastfeeding moms: so I am planning on going on a 3 day vacation with my hubby & a bunch of friends to Catalina in May, (my baby won't be going with us) and I do not wanna be pumping and dumping every 2 hours out there.. so if I don't pump or breastfeed for 3-4 days, will my milk supply drop significantly? 😩😩 & I don't know how I'm gonna deal with the engorgement pain if I can't find time to pump out there.
