I had it from 5weeks-11weeks with my last pregnancy. I wasn’t producing enough, which is what we think caused my first miscarriage. I used the suppositories- which my insurance didn’t cover (only the pill form- I was told the suppositories are best) $$ but worth it for my baby! I think yours might be for a different reason though, because the placenta is supposed to take over progesterone production around 11 weeks. I forget the other reasons it’s used for.

my last pregnancy i had the makena shots after my cerclage. this time im starting off on the suppositories then getting the shots in my second trimester. both arent terrible. the shot leaves a little soreness at the injection site but it doesnt last long. the suppositories makes you have even more discharge thats orange tint haha. i would prefer the shots since its once a week. the suppositories are daily and im constantly having to change underwears 🤣 but id do anything to keep baby cooking longer,

Oh yeah, a month ( 4 shots )worth of makena is around $3500. Not sure how much the pills are. I forgot to ask. You def wanna have a good insurance.

I have private insurance @rndmshtt, hopefully that works. The thing is that I’m not bleeding, dilating, or effacing so they aren’t doing much to help me. Last night I was having constant contractions and cramping and I started feeling pressure and the baby is much lower. She active and perfect but it’s just the contractions and all I want is for them to stop them. I don’t want to wait until my baby is in danger to actually have something done and it feels like no one is taking me seriously. 😪

I was on Makena. Totally allergic to it. I wish I could donate the remaining unused ones to someone that would benefit. They are so expensive.

@chasinghappiness, Thats aweful! Your obgyn doesnt seem concerned? contractions this early on is def something scary! especially when you have not passed the viability stage.
