Today we went to a mom’s group meet up at a toddler play place. My 4 yr old and I were playing with the blocks like in the pic and a few other kids joined us making “castles”.
Then in comes a wrecking ball of a kid right through it. The boys all got understandably upset, but I got them hyped up to rebuild. Again, wrecking ball smashes through. Repeat three times. Now the kids are pissed. One yells at the child. So Mom comes over finally and says “he’s 2 he doesn’t know better” (mind you there’s other 2 yr olds playing with us). Anywho.. this went on for a good 30 minutes. 30 flipping minutes that she never stopped her child, never corrected her child nothing. Finally, I distracted the boys and played with them all with something else for a while. We returned to the blocks and wrecking ball returned 🤨
So... WWMLD? Should Mom have corrected her child? Redirected her child? Or is she fine because it’s a toddler play place?

I would have said something to the mom and one of the workers of the play place.

I would of corrected her child. If someone is watching their kid purposely agitate mine...I'm going to stop it if they dont.

I kept reminding the kid they were building and encouraging him to help, but he couldn’t care less about what I said.
It was lunch time and many parents were leaving, so we just packed up too. My 4 yr old said in ear shot of wrecking balls Mom: good, because xnamex’s Mom doesn’t know how to teach her kid to play” 😬😂

I agree with the pps...I would of not only said something to the parent...I would of corrected the child if she still didn’t do anything after I said something to the parent.
I feel like so many parents use their child’s age as an excuse for poor behavior. They act that way bc they’re not being shown the correct way to behave.
Sorry to be a random on here, this kind of stuff just irritates me to no end. Lol

Hahahaaa your 4yo said the perfect thing 😂!! So I think the wrecking ball’s mom should have used the moment as an example to teach her kid. Ya know.. like that was the perfect time to teach the wrecking ball about joint play.

I would have tried keeping my kid away from the blocks after the second time it happened. Obviously wrecking ball kid just doesn’t get it and moms and asshole for letting it continue.
