Well my in law's decided to cut ties with me and my family now over them having to get their TDAP shot to see my baby. There has already been some confirmed cases of whopping cough where I live. She refuses to get it because she's "allergic" because her arms swells up a little bit. I was upset at first but now I'm over it. You won't even consider keeping my baby safe...by then. I'm a very laid back person and hardly speak my mind. When it comes to my babys health I'm not going to be quite and let anyone walk over me. I feel bad for my husband and my oldest daughter that they just want to be done. At least I have all my family here that will jump through hoops to keep my baby safe.

@boosienana I'm so sorry. Hopefully once the baby comes she'll change her mind. I would think she would be all about it as well. I had my mil come to listen and talk to the Dr about about the importance of vaccines. She still thinks vaccines cause autism 😒🙄 and that the HPV shot sterilized women...which I'm proof it doesn't lol. I was upset about it last night but now I'm over it. It shows me what matters most to them. I'm lucky my husband is taking my side and just said whatever to them fine see ya later.

There are commercials on tv right now about family members getting vaccinated against pertussis to protect the babies who are too small. Stand your ground! We paid for my MIL to get the shot, so she did.

@bulmabreigh3 Thank you. I'm a little more worried this time with my oldest daughter just starting kindergarten and bringing in extra germs.

@sheyshey1110 @mamagunn.no.1 Thank you ladies for understanding. It was their choice not mine. I feel for my daughter who will be messing out. The in laws live about 5 minutes away. She already gets she has to do stuff to keep her sister safe which included the flu shot. The sad thing is we had a god relationship till tonight. That's awesome that you got them to change their minds about the whopping cough. Sometimes a little information is all it takes. With them there's no point. My 88 year old grandma offered to wear a mask before she came over because she hadn't gotten her flu shot left.

Dh grandparents have just said this to SIL and said they've never heard of whooping cough so why would they get it. 😒 we live in a different state to them so wasn't a problem when I had little man, but SIL actually lives with them. They soon changed their minds when I told them why they had to get it. They listen to me for some reason. It's so selfish when people can't just get a quick jab to keep a newborn safe. It's their loss not being able to be around or meet baby.
