My dad is always trying to get me to go out without the baby so he can babysit ! It’s a really really nice gesture. For example when we go grocery shopping, he offers but I politely say no thanks and take her with me. I just feel like I can’t leave her.
But he’s always telling me to go do stuff on my own and he’ll watch her if I need a break. I exclusively nurse so I can’t be gone long at all. He seems aggravated when I turn the offer down but she’s only 3 weeks and I cant imagine myself leaving her for 20 min

Yeah, just start off with something small, so you can see how he takes care of her, and he can get used to watching her. Then if something comes up that you want to do, you’ll feel so much better leaving her with him.

@taylorsmommy1017, i never ask for help or accept it,, I have always been afraid if offered help being thrown in my face. Especially since we live in his home I don’t want to be looked at like I NEED the help,, even though he offers every time

@penelope127, that’s a good point! I told him once I get cleared at my 6 week appt he can watch her when I go on my runs . It seems so little but I feel like I’ll run so much faster just to get home to her quicker 😂

3 weeks? Umm no thanks. There’s no need to be away from baby at that point and you’re not wrong for feeling that way.

I wish! Someone was offering to watch my first for 20 minutes. I exclusively breastfed as well. Now that I have my second, I feed him, hand him to my husband and head to the bathroom to do anything: shower do my hair scroll through social media. When I’m finally done doing all of that two hours have passed by and it’s time to feed him. Take the help while it’s being offered!

It’s normal. We are mommies. My baby is 15 months and i still have hard time leaving her and going out. Only when it’s necessary, I’m leaving her with my mom or my husband.
