I think I might lose my mind. For the past 2-3 months my daughter has been sleeping through the night from 8:30pm-8:30am. We recently went to Hawaii where the time change was 6 hours behind. We’ve been home since saturday and getting her to sleep has been such a struggle. It’s 12:30 in the morning (which is 6:30pm in hawaii) and she will not go to sleep. The issue is once she falls asleep, she will sleep for 12 hours. So she’s going to sleep from 12:30(hopefully) till a little after noon. That’s not ok. I don’t know what to do. She will not go to sleep. We had such a good thing going and she was sleeping so well. I’m borderline crying listening to her scream so late at night.
But, if you give her a nap now, for like 2 hours. I don’t see how she won’t be ready to sleep for 8:30
@jtaylorg, oh shit. Salem is still taking two naps so if something gets fucked up, I don’t let him take his second nap.
@oktoberwitch, usually one good nap (2-3 hours) and then she will sometimes take a mini nap. It’s 1:40 and I can tell she’s getting tired 😭
@oktoberwitch, oh oh ok so don’t let her nap at all today?
@jtaylorg, no that’s good! That means that if you keep her up and keep her busy, and put her down for 8:30 she will hopefully be out like a light
@wafflespancakes, @oktoberwitch, @luv_2b_amomma, ugh guys she didn’t end up going to bed till 2:30 and then woke back up at 6am. I am SO exhausted. this is ridiculous
You have to do everything you can to keep her up during the day when she try’s to go bed . No nap time at all . Keep her busy , take her out so she’s up and tired . Until your desired bed time , then fill her belly with mash potatoes, give her a bath , story time and she will be out like a light and she will get back on schedule. The next few days you will have to keep doing that and she will get back on it before the weekend is over .
Tomorrow, you’re going to have to take away the closest nap to bed time. Whenever we need Salem to go to bed early, his second nap is taken away. She will likely be terrible tomorrow but after the next few nights her body will realize things are back to normal
Maybe try adjusting her in small time increments from what she was doing in Hawaii. Like maybe try getting her to bed 15 min earlier every night. So if her natural clock is telling her bedtime is at 1230, just work with that for now and gradually adjust her back.
You’ll have to sleep deprive her for a few days like nap wise
Maybe take her somewhere like zoo etc. play with her. Go for a walk. Park. Something that will make her tired. Maybe she’ll fall asleep and wake up earlier.
@garay88, No it’s definitely because we went to hawaii. Right now it’s only 6:30 pm there. and she was going to bed at 8:00 there
Best overnight diapers? Sofia has been sleeping 10-12 hours at night and every morning there is a pee spot on her sheet and she reeeeeeeeks of pee.
UPDATE: they’re keeping me in over night as her monitoring wasn’t great so I’m being monitored every 6 hours and if I’ve still not felt her or she hasn’t moved they’ll go from there 😓
mommys who co-sleep
Did you tell lo doctor you were co-sleeping? What is the response im going to get from her dr this month? She is almost 6 months and weve been co-sleeping since 4 months. She starts the night out in bed until she wakes up to eat, and then she comes into my bed.
Mommies I need advice....
So last night was night 15 of me sleep training my daughter from sleeping with me to now sleeping in her new crib. It has been EXHAUSTING! When she slept with me she would sleep straight throughout the night. Now she wakes up at the least, 5 times throughout the night. She has waken up at most 8/9 times at night. There have been times where I’m patting her for an 1 hour-2hours straight to get her back to sleep when she has waken up at one of those times🥵. So I have fel...
So my baby is 8 weeks old and is thriving with weight gain each doctors visit. So here is my question: around 4-5 hours at night for sleep she wakes up every night and sucks on her thumb. (She finally this week likes it to soothe her during nap times) her eyes are still closed and she moves around and sucks it. I wake her to feed her. My question is should I just let it go? And see if she is just soothing herself to sleep? I don't want her to stave by morning if she sleep a couple of more hours...
@oktoberwitch, Yeah. Ok I guess i’ll try that! thanks
