How do you guys keep your little ones amused on long car rides? We are going on vacation soon and it’s going to be a 5 hour drive. I was contemplating getting a portable DVD player and just buying some cheap kiddy movies. Otherwise it’s up to good ol mommy to amuse my son for 5 whole hours in the back seat lol I’m going to bring toys and a coloring book and lots of snacks. Hopefully it won’t be to bad.

I downloaded a movie on my tablet and my son watched that. Snacks, snack, and more snacks. 5 hours isn't too bad.

My son did his first 14 hour car trip at 18 months and it really wasn’t that bad. He’s done 2 more since and here in two and half weeks he’ll do another. The tablet was by far the biggest distraction for him.

@youngbutwisemomma, @bodybycheetos, yeah I may have my mom download some apps or movies on hers that don’t require WiFi my kindles power dies so quickly it would be dead within an hour. My son does 3 hour trips up to his fathers every other weekend. So it won’t be like something super new to him. I have no idea how he is in those trips. But at least I can hang with him in the back and I’m hoping he will nap some what of it.
