Has anyone been giving the whooping cough vaccine? My doctor wants me to get it .

@freshstart82017 The more people that will be around the baby that get it the better. My Dr said for sure my husband and daughter needed them as well. I got my whooping cough around 30 weeks. I just got my flu shot today at 37 weeks. The flu shot takes 2 weeks to take full effect. I got it as soon as I could. For me I just don't want to take any chances.

So I have a question does the whole family have to get the shot or is it just me to get the shot ? And when do u get the shot normally ?

I didn't let anyone near my kids unless they were vaccinated.

PS getting the vaccine while pregnant will transfer some immunity to baby during newborn before they are able to get it themselves.

I got it. I've seen pertussis in way too many babies and kids. It absolutely breaks my heart. That cough is enough to make my heart hurt. I don't know if I could stand seeing my baby with whooping cough.

Yes I got mine and am making any family that will be around the baby much or hold her get it. I'm also making them get the flu shot as well

Get it!!! I didn't with my daughter and she got whooping cough as a baby and almost died . they can't breath after awhile it's so scary. After that I got it and my other kids didn't get whopping cough.
