Do any moms here homeschool or unschool their children????
@pink1880, lots of reasons. I have 3 kids with IEPs for various reasons. They would #1 not have IEPs and access to services if we were still unschoolers and I would be doing a huge disservice to them because of that. Secondly....I want them to be someone else’s problem for 8 hours a day for 9 months 🤷🏼♀️. Yay public school 🤣.
@_sheriee it's considered homeschool. Everything is a lesson. And if they don't want to learn spelling or math I will not force it. Being forced to learn is never funn. And my children like to learn numbers and letters so I've gotten lucky with that. I ask my son if he would like to do more counting and if he says yes we do so till he is tired of it if he says no then okay maybe we can try again tomorrow.
Wait so do they go to school or they are considered homeschool ?? If they don’t want to let’s say learn to spell or do math, do you still enforce it? Super interesting, never have I heard of this
@kellynicole @_sheriee So you don't push curriculums that a normal public or private school would push.
@kellynicole @_sheriee Unschooling is allowing the child to make a decision on what they would like to learn daily or weekly. My cousin all are seriously smart and read so much! My youngest cousin is 6 and he has been reading books about the human body. I know a lady that her daughter is 8 and has chosen to work on vehicles and plants, she can put together an RV motor and has a full garden!!
@jdeflipp Lol you're fine. It's mandatory here too for some type of schooling. I have just been really looking and reading homeschooling stuff and my aunt unschools all her children.
@squishymommy1 I understand that and lol!!
