My boys act like theyre abused. I ask/tell them to do something like 20 times and they don't listen what so ever but the second i go in there and raise my voice or take something away they hide either under their blankets or in the closet. my 5 year olds the worst, if i even walk in his direction he runs and hides like imma beat him.these kids dont even get spanked but they act like theyre beaten and battered on a daily basis. Yes i do tend to raise my voice quite a bit but its usually after being ignored the first 20 times and constanly doing things ive told them a thousand times not to do in the house

@bcsweetie That's exactly the advice I would give. Sometimes giving them that eye contact and attention is enough to get them back on track.

Also, instead of raising your voice, try whispering in their ear to tell them what you want them to do. It turns it into a little bit of a game and they have to really focus to hear what you're saying.
