@ratednumber1bitch, it was 456 then after 2 hours I checked and it was 30. I have felt terrible allllll day. I'm type 1 so unfortunately This isn't the first time it's happened 😭

@ratednumber1bitch, I've had type 1 for 28 years- since I was 3. How are you doing? I know the more pregnant I get the harder it is to control.

@ratednumber1bitch, explain to them that is exactly WHY you want the pump- to keep it under better control. Sometimes I don't understand doctors. I got the pump when I was 13 and had to prove that I would take care of myself (back then it was write down my blood sugar and the amount of carbs I ate) but that was after they had already given it to me

@ratednumber1bitch, I've only had it once knock on wood. They need to get you on the pump asap. Believe me I know I woke up this morning cursing diabetes lol

@ratednumber1bitch, @faithhopelove, my oldest was diagnosed 3 years ago and it’s such a battle. Do either of you have any tips I can use with him? We are working on getting a pump but it’s still a few months away

@ratednumber1bitch, it’s been hard and puberty makes it impossible to not roller coaster right now. I’ve tried finding other parents of kids for support and have had no luck so thanks for the encouraging words!

@babymamaof4, yes I agree with checking his blood sugar often to keep tighter control. Once he gets his pump you will all find it much easier! Another thing I highly recommend is finding a diabetes camp to send him to over summer. It was literally the highlight of my childhood lol. My friends were all jealous I had diabetes lol (if only they knew)

@faithhopelove, I’ve thought about it but I was afraid it would make him feel too different because it wasn’t a normal camp... that and there is one for a week that’s 2 hours away from me maybe 3 and it scares me him being gone that long.

@faithhopelove, @ratednumber1bitch, you ladies have already been more help than I’ve gotten here! When my son was diagnosed we spent 9 days in ICU, his levels were so high they had to dilute his blood twice just to get a reading of 1678. And then for them to tell me he should have been dead, or in a coma and have brain damage it was so overwhelming and horrible! 3 trips to the dr before finally going to the emergency room to find out he was diabetic and then we were life-lighted to a hospital 2 hours away. I’ve worked so hard to NOT go back to that and I’ve been alone in this my husband barely understands anything and I have no one to talk to about it!

@babymamaof4, no you feel the complete opposite of different. It's just like a normal camp with normal activities except everyone checks their blood and does injections. And omg 1678. 😳 I've never even heard of that. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. What is his current A1C?

@faithhopelove, it’s horrible it’s 9.1 the first year it was so good it stayed at 6.6-7.2 and this last year has been hell no matter what I do with him. And yeah all the drs were shocked that he wasn’t in a coma with it that high but he was incoherent and couldn’t stand and he was turning grey and we’d been through 2 different medicines and they didn’t work
