What is it like being induced? I'll be 41 weeks tomorrow and I have a non stress test scheduled. After that I might be induced based on the results but I've heard that being induced is worse than real labor 😵

I was induced with my daughter and I’ve never had natural so I have nothing to compare it to but it went pretty well for me except for the extreme contractions. My cervix was already soft so they just inserted a foly bulb catheter to open it and they expected it to take all night to get to 4 cm but it only took like 2-3 hours. After that I was allowed to eat dinner and mild contractions had begun. Then they started pitocin about an hour later and broke my water probably an hour or so after that when I was at 5 cm. When the water breaks shit gets real. I was planning on going epidural-free but nothing would ease the pain (tried a hot shower but wasn’t allow d a bath due to the monitors attached, then tried IV fentanyl which only made me dizzy) so I have in and asked for the epidural. They had to turn off pitocin for me to get the epidural because I was shaking so much from pain. But once I got epidural it got much better, and I was able to push baby out after 20 minutes of pushing. It was only 9 hours from start to finish. It was the day after my due date and I think my body was prepared for labor already

Waiting for labor to start took longer than actual labor for me. And then it was a lot faster than when I went in to labor naturally. 23 hours vs 6 hours. Went naturally both times. Both hurt equally as much.

It sounds like such a long process. With my son I went to the hospital at 6cm and had him 2 hours later. I also didn't need the epidural so I was hoping to not get one this time but I'm such a wuss.

I had to be induced with all three of my kids. No complications. Had them all within 10 hours of starting induction. I also got an epidural because the medicines brought the contractions on very strong. With my third I really wanted to go natural but I made it to 7cm before I asked for an epidural because contractions were so bad. I'm really praying this time around my body goes into labor naturally so I can try to labor at home a little bit before going to the hospital.

When I was induced, it hurt worst than when I gave birth on my own. It took 2 days....on the second day, my water broke and I was 3cm... so I was able to get an epidural. But nothing progressed after that. My baby’s heartbeat dropped after every contraction and my blood pressure continually rose.... so I had to get an emergency c-section

I was induced with my first and the contractions had me feeling like I wanted to throw up the whole time until I was able to get the epidural....labor wise I can’t say cause I had a c section. So maybe that’s why my induction experience wasn’t bad too me lol

Since you have 2 kids already, your body knows what to do in labor so it's not as bad as being induced when it's your first baby. But if you're really worried make sure to get the epidural.

Since you’re 41 weeks and already have kids there’s a higher chance it will go quick and easy for you. That’s what the nurses told me when I was induced with my second and it was true. Good luck!

It is worse pain wise. But if you get the epidural, it’s fine.
