Dr. just messaged me and said that I tested positive for Group B Strep! Does anyone have any experience with this? I have no clue what this is and have never heard of it before.
@glencoco, I’m nervous now. Bc even though I have a csection scheduled for 9-4 I’m already 2cm dilated and have been having a lot of contractions. So I may very well have her before the csection!!
@glencoco, That’s why I was freaking out bc everyone’s making it seem like no big deal but I’m reading exactly what you’re reading and I’m worried
Contrary to most comments if you do your research it actually is a big deal. Not getting the antibiotics is harmful to the baby and could kill them. If a baby gets group b it could cause pneumonia, meningitis, or sepsis. Just be sure to go to the hospital if you start to go into labor.
Yup I didn't have it with my first but had it third tone around all they do is run antibiotic thru ur I.V while ur in labour
@ella_j_heart, ok. I’m making sure everybody knows to Tell them 100 damn times each even if I told them already!!! Lol
@ella_j_heart, omg!!! I hate when they come in asking you questions like that when you’re on strong medication. They shouldn’t be allowed to do that
@samann9492, wheww!!! Ok good!!! Ty for easing my mind!!! I was like WHAT IS THAT!!!! 😂
With my daughter I never even got to test because I had her the day of my appointment. They just gave me meds to be safe thru the IV they had me on anyway
@angeleyes1364, Thank you. I’m scheduled to have a C-section. So hopefully she will wait lol
I am a RN it's not a big deal they will probably start you on some oral meds and when you go into labor you need to go into the hospital right away so they can give you more meds thru a IV before you have the baby
@maloaug, just natural bacteria in the vagina. Nothing you can do to prevent it
@liz41395, ok! I was freaking out! This is my 4th pregnancy and I’ve never had this before. What causes it?
@mommynmotion yes
