Short term disability in USA to extend maternity leave
What do I need to put or ask doctor to write into the STD forms so that I can get approved for it after delivery? My company offers 26 weeks at 70% pay but not sure how this works?? The paperwork says "doctor can certify a longer period under certain medical conditions " . What are those conditions??
My husband is an emt and us regularly sleep deprived working nights and staying home with with our kids during the day im not sure its something you can get disability for. Im glad we dont have the option for a year because i wouldnt have been hired at my job if there was a possibility i would actually have taken it. Something between nothing, which too many ppl get, and a year would be optimal imo.
I'm
Wondering if lack of sleep impacting safe driving would work?? I'll have twins which I'll be breastfeeding and commute pretty far ... I wonder what else I can write on there.. im hoping for a smooth natural delivery ... but yes, 6 weeks paid and if I have doctor sign the paper they will pay another 6 weeks at 70% and if I can convince them they will go all the way to 26 weeks. But I won't get the form
Until I actually deliver and apply . It's so upsetting that other countries give 1 year... it should be the norm everywhere !
Most doctors won't certify longer than want you actually need, for no reason. It's 6 weeks for vaginal and 8-10 for c-section, depending on how quickly you recover. In my state you can also use STD before the baby arrives as it
is considered a disability. I was just written off yesterday bc my job is strenuous and I caught a killer cold and can just not function at all!
If your doctor recommendation (i.e. np pushing, pulling, lifting, etc.) interfere with your daily job functions, then you can get the short term disability. I work at an amazon fulfillment center, and the second my doctor fills out the paperwork for me to have those restrictions, ill be forced onto STD. I dont want that, so im just not having my doctor fill out the forms since he says those recommendations arent 100% necessary.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
I'm going to inquire about unpaid leave of absence or working from home. I really find it so hard to think about leaving two 12 week old babies in the care of someone else but I know I can't not work for 6 months straight... especially with two little ones
