Medela freestyle or spectra S1 pump ?

I heard the spectra was he best so it's what I got

Not sure I want to be tied down to a spot while pumping. Is the spectra kinda bulky or could I tuck it in a fancy pack ?

I had medela when I was nursing my daughter. Loved it. Sold it because I didn't think I would have more babies. Got the spectra this time and hated it. It's not as well made and I just couldnt draw as much milk out.

Thanks guys! So you had the medela freestyle right? The one that you can carry around ? I think I will ask for that one. Plus the spectra put of pocket is much cheaper than the medela freestyle if I change my mind later

I had both the medela freestyle and the pump in style for my first, when I had my twins my lactation consultant recommended the spectra- it worked much better than either Medela for me! It was amazing!!!

I have the spectra coming. It was recommended by my doula and my last midwife as being the best.

One of my friends just told me about a bad experience with the freestyle... she was telling me it didn't pump well enough :/ since I have twins I think I might need that extra sucking power... so back to spectra s1 I go... it's only $50 for the battery version with my insurance

I had the freestyle since 2005 with my first son i kept it and used it with my twins and the suction is great still

I have both the Medela Freestyle and Spectra S2. I think I like the Spectra better because it seems to be easier on the nipples. In terms of output, it seems the Spectra does a better job but I haven't really tested it like that. I will tell you that I spill more milk with the Medela because as you walk around and do things, bend a little here and there, it comes right out. The Spectra definitely has a better system to keep milk in and the back flow protector is much better. The parts are easier to clean and simpler on the Spectra, as well. With that said, I still like being able to walk around when I want to. I think you have the right idea - buy the Freestyle through insurance and Spectra out of pocket. It seems cheap on Amazon.
