Bathing twins 0-12months???
How do you twin moms bathe your twins??? One at a time? Together? Any special gadgets? I'm thinking eventually when they can sit up I can have them both in a tub at the same time... but what about before that? Was looking at baby products in store today and it's so overwhelming and nothing seems to be helpful for twins!
No i just held one in my arms washed them let them get relaxed and had one laying either on my legs or in the bouncer till the other was done and when i layed them in the tub with just an inch of water i had put a non slip mat thats it they would kick and splash the water as they got older i added a little bit more water and just let them crawl around in there i also took a bath with them once they started sitting up and were wobbly so i never used the laundry basket
Look on babies r us website. They have a bath sponge cushion. It's like a very soft sponge with a shallow cutout in the middle for baby. Awesome thing is you can put about an inch of water in the tub and the sponge holds the water, that way their back side is in some warm water while you sponge bathe them until their stub falls out. Then you can fill up a little more once it comes out. They are not much bigger than baby, so you can easily lay the right next to each other to bathe simultaneously with ease. Got this tip from a twin mommy I know. And they're only like $3 !!! I'll post a pic in a separate post if anyone would like.
I also bought one blooming bath to put in our laundry sink. I'll be bathing my boys one at a time (I can't imagine how I would do both at the same time safely- especially if my husband isn't there). So I'm hoping to stick to the sleep, eat, play/bath and then bed routine.
We're going to use a blooming bath laid flat in a laundry basket in the big tub. Before their stumps fall out we'll just use the running water for the washcloth and after they fall out we can plug it for just a little water. I bathed my singletons with me in the tub or in the shower, but I always hated bathing newborns. Now this time, with two, I need something I can do much slower and probably safer. Haha
Oh the good ol days. Lol... When mine were able to kinda sit up but were wobbly, I would use a plastic laundry basket in the tub and some little plastic toys inside for them to play with. They loved that. They couldn't fall over or slide anywhere and the basket dried up really fast. (I would sit them on a towel when i first started bc I always had one twin that was more wobbly and he made me nervous, but after a few times, they were fine.)
@kels.... did you have them in the shower or a big tub with you? How did you hold them? Were they in individual sling contraptions in the shower or tub with you? I like that idea of multitasking and I thankfully have a huge shower and also a huge tub to work with! Tell me more!
I bathed mine together from newborn in the main bath. I would put a towel in and a couple of inches of water. Meant I was hands free. I was on my own in the week so found it more time saving than doing them separately. Will put a pic on for you x
