@chelseaz well my husband is a marine and he and I both due to our backgrounds with the military and government have to get physicals at least once every 3 months and they check for STD's and both of us have come up completely clean so we know that I didn't pass it to her and that he didn't pass it to her and my mother has handled my daughter when she had a cold sore and I'm not sure if she kissed on my baby with the cold sore on or not and that's the problem.

And also, it is possible to have and pass on the virus without ever having an outbreak. People who never even know they have it can pass it on. So if it is a cold sore, it would be impossible to determine how she actually got it or who passed it to her. Unless your mom had an active outbreak and was handling your daughter, then you might be able to say with some certainty where it came from. I’ve had cold sores randomly since I was a baby. Praying it’s not one though.

@jellybeans_mumm she's only seen her a few times but I can't say no but I've never seen her do it. However, a cold sore is a form of herpes and normal people are not supposed to get them unless exposed to the virus.
