Just made our labor and delivery nurse gifts and thank you cards. :) Wanted to do it early enough…

I like this!! I did that with my first daughter but this time I was too exhausted to walk around and shop my entire 2-3rd trimesters I ended up just giving them food and Starbucks gift cards 😔

My mother is an ICU nurse, and I just want to say thank you because they totally love it when their patients care!!! This is so nice of you!

@natcasey9 Kool-aid squeeze, yoohoo, granola bar, 2 drink powders for water, peanut butter crackers, teddy grahams, York patty, kit Kat, rolos, box of raisens, box of cracker jacks, a 3 pack of lotion/body wash/hand soap, and a thank you card. All inside a little basket they can keep. All from dollar tree I made 6 of them for $25.

@scx I'm sorry, you don't have to feel bad. Not everyone makes them. I have an intense trauma history and the hospital is already being so wonderful to me I just wanted to do something to say thanks.

I was thinking want I could make mine. I have a long time ( 6 more months) I was thinking I just baking them a few different things. I like yours. At least when they are done they can still use there baskets

@soon-2b-mother-of-3 oh well fun fact!! They can't accept anything that is homemade. I am a baker and love to make homemade gifts but they aren't allowed to have any of it due to health and safety. So whatever you do get needs to be store bought or delivered from the food location (I.e. tacos from taco bell; doughnuts from Krispy Irene, etc). So I went with these so I could make them myself. Also I love the basket they get to keep along with the lotion/soap/body wash trio. The rest is all snacks for during their shifts. :)

How do you know how many baskets to make?

@beeforever98 if you do a hospital tour you can ask. I asked my doula and she explained that most hospitals will assign 1 nurse 1 delivery patient per shift and with us being there for 4 shift changes (and a high probability of a nurse being a repeat for us) we should need at most 4. However, I was told they assign 1-2 nurses during delivery to the baby as well so that makes at max 5-6 needed so I made the 6. Contemplating making 2 more to have extra but not sure if I will yet. :)
